Extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, vitamin K2 - MK7 ( menaquinone-7).
1 drop contains 20 mcg Vitamin K2.
Glass flask with dropper, 20 ml (400 drops).
Favors the reduction of calcification of arterial walls. Contributes to the maintenance of normal bones.
There are two forms of Vitamin K: K1 and K2. Vitamin K1 (phylloquinone) helps to maintain proper control of blood clotting. Vitamin K2 (menaquinone, MK) is just another molecule. It is produced by intestinal bacteria, but unfortunately it is poorly absorbed and passes into the stool. K2 is a fat-soluble vitamin not stored in the human body, and therefore must be introduced regularly through the diet. This vitamin has the main function of allowing the calcium taken with food and circulating in the blood not to settle in the arteries and generally in "soft tissues" (such as kidney, joints, brain) and to settle instead preferentially at the bone level. The consequence is a decreased risk of calcium "plaques" formation in the arteries and, on the contrary, an increase in bone calcification (recent research also suggests a possible decrease in the risk of arthritis and Alzheimer's disease). Vitamin K2 would therefore have above all a cardiovascular and osteoporotic protective effect.
One of the most important studies, the Rotterdam Study was the first to demonstrate that a daily intake of Vit.K2, greater than 32 mcg, reduces the risk of both arterial calcification and cardiovascular death by as much as 50% without side effects. If calcium and vitamin D supplements are taken, it is essential to take adequate doses of K2 in parallel. While vitamin D improves bone development by helping calcium absorption, it directs calcium to the skeleton, preventing it from depositing where it is not desired and helping to mobilize calcium on the wall of vessels and arteries. Professor Cess Vermeer, one of the world's leading experts on vitamin K2, suggests a daily intake of vitamin K2 between 45 and 185 mcg for adults not taking medication.
